Research Computing will perform regularly-scheduled planned maintenance Wednesday, 1 May 2019. May's activities include
- Network firmware upgrade for select Blanca infrastructure
Maintenace is scheduled to take place between 07:00 and 19:00, though service will be restored as soon as all activities have concluded. During the maintenance period no jobs will run on select Blanca compute resources. (Namely, any node starting with bnode01, bnode03, bnode04, or bnode05).
This upgrade addresses multiple previous unplanned outages, where Blanca network equipment was found to have shut down for no apparent reason. In particular, this new firmware specifically indicates:
