More information from data center admin: This battery replacement is complete. I will be monitoring the health and condition of the new batteries very closely over the next several days. We received the confirmation today of a maintenance taking place today and tomorrow at SPSC, for UPS batteries replacement. It is not anticipated any disruption on the services during the whole maintenance. But, still, we would like to inform our users. The data center room where the maintenance will occur hosts PetaLibrary Active (Beegfs) and Blanca nodes.
More information from our data center administrator: The N180 data center is supported by two Eaton 9395 UPS systems which are paralleled together to dynamically share the IT load of the data center. We replaced one set of batteries last year. This work will require one UPS to be shutdown, but the 2nd redundant system will be left on-line throughout the maintenance still protecting the critical IT load. This work should be completely transparent and not lead to any disruptions for your IT services.
